Who Are Your Cheerleaders?

Who do you have cheering for you when you are not in hear shot? Shouting for your success even when you can’t hear their voices? The people on the sidelines with a towel and a bottle of water waiting to support you and say the words “good job”.

When I attend my daughter’s swimming competition I am the mama who yells “you got this” even when her head is under the water. I do this because she knows I am her biggest cheerleader and even if she can’t hear my voice she can feel the positive vibrations. She knows that while she is swimming her mama is going to say “swim fast” and “bring it home”. Just knowing this will give her that extra motivation and a boost of confidence. Around me are other parents just like me, they are yelling and praising and sending positive vibrations to their swimmers even when all they hear is a quick sound bite of a “nonspecific noise”. My daughter is very descriptive when she explains the sounds she hears, yet she loves it.

So in your everyday life who is your cheerleader? Isn’t it awesome when you know that someone is rooting for you and believes in your abilities? They are your circle of friends and family who can’t wait to see or hear about your next feat. The ones who pray for you and put you in their daily meditation. I have an awesome cheer squad and they make my day. There are times when I am having a moment of doubt just to receive a message reminding me why I am on my journey. Or a sweet note with a heart emoji that validates my actions. The unexpected call that helps me through my week. What about the messages you get that simply tell you that you are AWESOME?

We don’t have to be ten years old to love the feeling of that “nonspecific noise” coming from the person cheering for us. Just knowing that they are pulling for us is invigorating. It makes us want to keep going. We all deserve a cheer squad. Do you know your cheer squad? If you do, send them a note of appreciation because their positive energy and vibrations are just what this world needs.
